Recipe: Whipped Cream
2-Ingredients to Heaven
Whipped cream can be easy! Whether you have a stand mixer or a hand mixer, there are a few tricks that will help! If you are doing it by hand - it’s possible with a good whisk and a lot of patience, but not as ideal! I’ll be giving a recipe for a hand-mixer, the stand-mixer is the same.
For good whipped cream you need high quality heavy whipping cream and a little powdered sugar to sweeten. What you need most is cold tools - cold bowl, cold beaters, cold cream! You may even need to put it all back in the fridge and let it chill out! Now, if you beat too hard you’re going to wind up with butter and buttermilk - which isn’t a bad thing but won’t work on the pie!
Dish Type - Dessert
Makes 2 cups whipped
Ingredients:
1 cup chilled heavy whipping cream
1 Tbsp confectioners (powdered) sugar
Hand mixer with chilled beaters and bowl (don’t chill the actual mixer)
Instructions:
Add heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar to a bowl - begin to beat on medium setting, moving the beaters around the bowl to aerate. They should begin to form soft peaks after a few minutes. Keep beating and if it’s getting too warm and seems to be loosening, pop the beaters and the bowl back in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Keep beating until stiff peaks form and keep chilled until serving!
You can re-whip over the next day or two for serving!
Refrigerate for storage
